    You go to Whole Foods and the local organic/natural food co-op to buy chicken treats. Whole organic oat groats (for warm oatmeal breakfasts), 9 grain "cooked style" cereal to add to their food (for some variety) and a bunch of organic red chard. Gah. All *I* got from the trip was a plate of black beans and rice *LOL!*

    When you find yourself digging through the leaf pile looking for worms instead of having the hens do it for themselves!

    I even raise earthworms to put in the compost pile for my girls to go through.
