Lol! I think this thread is giving me an identity crisis. :lau
I love wild rice, okra is gross, grits are good with cheese (though I confess I didn't even know what grits were when we moved here) but I've never ice fished or driven on ice... though I have jumped in a pool with a thin sheet of ice...
I'm from the West, my husband is from the North, but we live in the South...what am I??? LOL

liking wild rice is not enough to offset the negatives which put you soundly in the south..

A thin layer of ice is 6 inches.. not 1/4 inch..
 
Well, yesterday we got a mere dusting of snow here, and today all the local churches are announcing closures. If this was a weekday, all the schools would close too. No matter that it's gonna be above freezing by 10A.M..... This is the southie mindset for sure. Just went out and took this pic....

Where I grew up near Buffalo, NY, we NEVER got a snow day off from school in spite of feet of snow. :lol:

We have a high of 77F today. Lol, So much for my winter...
