You might be a “Southie” if...

So these are just pets and none are for livestock?
Oh the idea was for beef calves, and milk. I could milk Eden and Brynn, but I'll wait until the calves are bigger, and it looks like it'll just be Eden.

Bottom line, even though I'd be willing myself to eat the calves, DH is not. And they take two years to grow out. Eden is the pet and the lowest on the totem pole. She's my favorite. I guess I'll learn how to do AI and breed her (and eventually her daughter) to a meat breed whose calves will grow faster, hopefully be a bit less adorable 🤞🤞🤞 and be more economical for meat production. I would keep Brynn too, but then we'd be back to four cows.

So TBH, even though I referred to them as pets, that was mostly (but not entirely) for laughs.

There's a couple coming to look at them this evening. I just placed the ad this morning, so we shall see.

I believe the apocalypse is coming. Not because of dangerous viral infections, but because it was 85 degrees here today. A week and a half ago it was still getting down into the upper twenties - low thirties at night. A little bit like getting a really lovely spa treatment.

Well then the apocalypse has been in Georgia for at least 25 years. Lol

Maybe, if Georgia starts getting winter temperature highs of below zero, you will gain more understanding.

It very rarely even snows in my neck of the woods, we're closer to the coast here BUT I do know what it is to turn the heater on when you go to bed, and switch the AC on by lunch time. We call it Spring. Lol

Spring here means the weather behaves like a moody teenager. We've literally had weeks where we went swimming, a couple days later it snowed, and lo' and behold somewhere in there a tornado or severe thunderstorm showed up. It's kind of funny to go to school one day and everyone's in shorts and the very next day everyone is bundled up in their winter gear.

Why would you go to school?
