You might be a “Southie” if...

No, fried taters are potatoes, either sliced or cut in bite-sized pieces (and onions when I make them) fried in frying pan in a bit of Crisco. There’s skill involved when cooking most anything fried so that you don’t burn parts and leave some uncooked or dreadfully sticking to the bottom of the pan. These are eaten either for supper or breakfast, but mostly supper and, yes, it’s probably a “southern thang!” :gigAnd they are absolutely delicious, as most fried things are! Hash browns, are finely grated potatoes fried for breakfast, mostly!

People still use Crisco? I like to use bacon grease for the flavor and avocado oil to keep it from sticking too much.

Lard is required. Not crisco

Where do you live, Alabama or Michigan? I’m a Alabamian, transplanted from Georgia, but I’ve lived in <takes a big breath> NJ, AZ, AK, MA, OK, GA, AL. Whew! That list leaves me breathless!
Hey, Ralphie, what am I considered since I have lived in ALL those states? 🤣
A Southie that refuses to stay where she belongs and keeps trying out the more northerly Southie areas..

I see you never tried to live in the pure northerner areas.
