Ok, so I'm not the only one talking to my chickens...hello sweet girls..hello sweets...hello ladies..how are you doing today? Are you hungry? Did you lay an egg for me today? Ahh, thank you, that's a nice egg. So and So...why haven't you laid an egg for me in a while..are you ok? And, of course, when I go out with treats and don't see them..here chick chick chick..then they come a runnin. Cute little bug a boos...
I am one to make special treats for them. They love the boiled eggs smashed with plain yogurt and vitamins in it. Of course they love corn, a little warm for that right now, but they love it so much, I still give it to them once in a while.

Oh yeah, spoiled..kind of a crazy thing to do, but I would do it if I had a place close by to go into. Do you go in at night?? lol...
uh..no should I?? LOL
you may never find your way out at night lol...btw-- we own about 6 rows in lol..but he farms it..kinda grandfathered his...but technically ours...so he's not gonna
care lol...
if you have a dream that a bear attacks your chickens, so you wake up in a cold sweat at 2:00am and jump out of bed, run outside in your pajamas, throw open the chicken coop door, hold each chicken for five minutes to make sure they're all ok, then you remember that you live is Sacramento where there are no bears.
#1- if one day you own 0 chickens.. then the next you suddenly own 12 and you did not buy them yourself they just showed up. HENCE the reason for #2
#2- If you have a stray chicken lay eggs under your porch without you knowing it.. and suprises you with 11 chicks!! so you rush to home depo and buy CHicken wire to enclose under that porch to keep the broody and her chicks safe..Turning it into a chicken coop and then Starting to get the urge to Hatch eggs yourself in a incubator!!!!.
#3- OH and you can't stop going outside to look and oogle at the hen and her chickens.
#4- You Do a Head count on all your chicks Every day even thou they are in a coop
That is so funny because I do a head count "roll call" every morning and somtimes in the evening.......... I think they come running knowing it's Chicken Army formation time LOL
