If your hubby/wife says: "Don't come back with any more chickens!" whenever you go ANYWHERE - not just when you go to the feed store or swap......

When your dh tells you to stay in the house from now on because everytime you walk out the front door, the chickens come running. Or they come when you call "here chicky chicky chicky!"

When you dig out the side of a clay hill for hours to get worms for your hens. LOL it was hot too. They are so funny eating them. Gloria Jean

Right .. I'm just glad I'm not the only chickenless one .. **pout**

When you stand out in a thunderstorm with your umbrella, bailing water off the roof of your chicken tractor, just to make sure your girls are OK because this is their first rain storm.

Not that I did this, mind you. It was ...uh...a friend of mine.

You hatch chicks in a bator, put them in a old aquarium and place it by your favorite chair and put your hand down in it so the chicks can get under your cupped hand to feel safe like they would under momma. The whole while your back is killing you because of the awkward position but you don't care because it is so darn CUTE with little heads sticking out between your fingers and their sound a sleep and you dont' want to wake them

Ok, maybe now that I wrote this out I will seek treatment at the local psych hospital.

When you stand as quiet as a statue outside the coop door because you have a feeling that the first of your flock is in there, laying the very first egg... and you are right!!!!!
And then you take pictures and email them to all your family and friends who you KNOW think you are --indeed-- a crazy chicken lady.

Yes, that happened today!

now I know I'm NOT crazy (or if I am, I'm in the best of company!)

I'll have to show this thread to my fiance, who is VERY patient, helpful and careful with my 14 sweet girls...

and, yes, I crouch down quietly almost every morning to see who might lay an egg while I'm watching--sometimes they do, and they don't mind at all--I think they are kinda proud!

Love my girls....
and I've only had them 20 weeks!
