You might be a crazy chicken lady/gent if...Go on, post yours!

OOOo, when you go to look at a house your girlfriend is thinking about buying and you see a small building in the corner of the lot and say "That would make a great chicken coop, you should buy this place." without even seeing the house yet.

I didn't realize that I had started doing this until this morning. We had an oddly shaped pullet egg and it took me a couple of seconds to figure out which end was which. Then I had to stop and ask myself why it would even metter.

My neighbor gave us a stack cake last week. Today I walked to her house to return it. While I was waiting on her to answer the door, I was estimating how many chickens I could safely house in her empty garage.

Glad I'm not the only one!

When you sit at work longing to get home just to see your babies, even if it is too dark out to pick them all up and love on them.. ohhhh I can't get enough of them. I love this thread.

When you set up hatches to happen when house guests are expected because you KNOW they will fall in love with them when they watch them hatch, and you send them home with the new babies and a bag of chick starter. Pretty soon they will make me post a warning label on my house...."WARNING! Upon entering this house, do not expect to leave without new chickens to take home!"

When you take the time to read all of these posts and realize we are all cut from the same cloth, have done most of these things and laughed and cried while reading them. I love you guys, my chicken family!!

When you hide a layer of cracked corn under the regular feed in the feeder so the girls will have a nice surprise when they eat.

When you can tell which of your favorite chickens is walking up behind you by the particular noise that she makes.

And lots of the other things already mentioned...

My husband is very grateful for this post. He now knows he's not alone, being a HCCL... Husband to a Crazy Chicken Lady. He is much comforted by that knowledge, and hopefully won't feel so weird buying me those $100 silkies that I've asked for for Christmas...
