When you go out to eat with the family and at the end of the meal you scan everyone's plates for suitable chicken treats and confiscate them before they can decide to ask for a doggie bag

I am thinking of doing this and we are also getting cameras for our online cam

The coop is so far away from the house we can't hear if anything is going on

When you go outside, pizza in hand, to sit and enjoy the view, when... First chicken sneaks up and snatches pizza piece #1, and when the other girls flock around begging, you surrender the remainder of your tasty pizza, gladly. Then explain to hubby why you're eating a PBJ sandwich when we just had homemade pizza!

I love these!

...and hadn't thought of the baby monitor in the coop. I will def. have to find mine!

... if when you let the banties out to free range for the first time, they start for the place you don't want them to go, you call them by name, and they actually come back... AND You are absolutely thrilled you have a pet that will actually come back when called!
(The cat and the dog not so much... Kids either.... Oh and 18 banties are a lot to call by name!)

When you spend a week of evenings leaning on the perch with your 7 week old chicks to help them get used to sleeping in their new house, and when they figure out how to put themselves to bed, you are bursting with motherly pride and sad because they are growing up - all at the same time. And you had to tell someone!!!
