Hello Friends and Friends to Come,

I would like to chart down the steps for my Blue Cochin hen...

First off, to start this thread, her name is Inde which is short for Independent.
She went broody on this date; June - first - two thousand seventeen.

I sure hope this isn't odd, but on this date; June - twelfth - two thousand seventeen,
I placed three eggs under Inde. Then, later that day I placed one more.

The day after I place another! So now five eggs are under her!

When I did the math, I figured out they should start developing this date; June - eighteenth - (you know by now, this year) And they should hatch this date; July - second.

So I can't wait to see! I will use this thread to fill ya'll in!

Thanks for viewing!

P.S - They are BB/DEL/DORK eggs!

Hello,

Thank you very much! I hope so too!
I can't wait to see what happens!

For one thing, I know she will make a great mother!

Thanks again,
The Angry Hen

Hello @The Golden Egg5,

Thank you very much!
I am glad you are interested in my plan!

So, today I decided to add one more egg!
And that will be the last add to the little collection!

I also made up a concoction to help if a broody hen took sick,
it has oyster shell juice for calcium and vinegar for a bunch of reasons!
(Also, water to water the vinegar down.)

I set up a small bowl for Inde to drink from, she loved it!
She isn't sick, but it will keep her in place where she won't get sick!

She liked it so much... The others took an interest and followed me around for a sip of it!

It was cute! So, she drank a bit and was very happy!
I think, if I am not mistaken it helped her with cooling off a bit!

Out of all the places she goes broody? She went broody where the heat lamps are!
(Our days are hot, nights are cold in Maine.) Silly Inde! So, I replaced the heated bulbs with non heated led bulbs! It is better for her now!

-The End For Now!
Thank ya'll for viewing!

Thanks again for sticking around!

Very interesting (and cute)! Is it Apple Cider Vinegar? or white vinegar? or...? :D
Also, I believe we need some photos of the mother-to-be if that is possible?
Good luck to K and Inde!

Haha that's great! Seems like she really liked it. I'm sure she was glad also that she didn't have to get up to get it! :thumbsup

Yes, I was glad to help her out...
I don't want her getting up too much,
my SS hens would have bothered the eggs!

Thanks!

Sure! It was apple cider vinegar, I think that is why it was more of an accomplishment!
Lol, I think the flavor was a plus for her! :)

Here is Inde! I call her the "pillow of the flock!"

There ya go! Thank you very much!

PS - If you show me a pic of her in her nest, then I will be able to vote.;)
I'm guessing it's her in your new avatar...but she does not look broody there!

Do you mean for the vice prez? :D

If so, I am sorry,
thank you very much for for considering that...

But I entered a different Blue Cochin! Lol.
