You'll never believe what I found at Wal Mart! Update #36 *Pics*

I'll try to get a good pic of her standing up tomorrow. Her stance and body shape is very much like my leghorn and andalusian pullets; she's slender and has an upright, fanned out tail. Her comb is tough to get a good pic of, but it is basically just a small straight comb that flops over to one side.

You pretty much answered my questions in the post you got in before I posted my inquiry.

If you can get another picture, that'd be cool. I'd like to see how she holds her tail. If she's got leghorn in her, then her comb will start growing as she gets close to laying. If she's already laying, then probably not a leghorn mix.

Yeah, it worries me too. I want to give her a better life than she's had so far and I also want to be careful not to introduce any bad stuff to my healthy chickens.

She did eat right away, but her crop was already really packed full when I caught her. Not sure if that means she had just recently escaped from somewhere that she had food OR if it means she was scavenging stuff from the parking lot. Eek!

Green poo can come from what she has been eating lately, I wouldn't worry too much unless it doesn't change with normal feeding.

Now I'm a bit freaked out, because my girls almost always have green poo!

I assumed it was because they free range all day and eat grass and clover and whatnot...I didn't know any different.

Congrats on your new friend, though! She looks very sweet.

It's exactly that. Sorry to have scared you. I didn't say anything about the color of poop due to dietary conditions because it didn't sound like that was the case for this bird.

Try making technicolor poo: give your girls blueberries or other strongly colored foods.

Maybe Cheetos? (just kidding)

What an odd situation... I mean, comeon... who would have thought!?

I can just see the potential confrontation in the parking lot:

"HEY LADY... WHY ARE YOU UNDER MY SUV!?!?!?" Then you emerge pulling out a chicken. That would be a story the SUV owner would tell their grandkids!
