Very pretty, but not Ameraucana. That's an Easter Egger.

What makes you think he's an easter egger and not ameraucana... the eggs came from someone with who was exchanging ameracauna stock with other breeders. I don't know the standard so please enlighten me.

Yellow skin and red leakage through the hackle feathers. The best way to tell if you are getting actually Ameraucana or regular Easter Eggers, is color/variety. Ameraucana always have a color/variety specified. If a breeder can't tell you exactly what specific varieties they have, it's a pretty safe bet they've got Easter Eggers, and have no clue what an Ameraucana actually is. Quite frankly a lot claimed breeders have no idea, or just simply don't care, that their "Ameraucana" are actually Easter Eggers.
