*Update* I ended up taking our little guy to the vet after suspecting that there was more issues with his vent area that I was unable to fix. Thankfully I did because apparently scar tissue had formed over most of his vent causing all the problems. The vet fixed it with a cut and a few stitches! Now, a few days later, he is doing awesome! I'm so glad I didn't give up on him. He's not so keen on the daily administering of antibiotics and pain meds but otherwise no worse for wear. BTW we finally named he and his sister- Ollie and Molly
