Youngster looking unwell (after hurricane)

It's not that I'm surprised but I am very very sad.
She died during the night.
I nurtured that little one for months, she lived inside with me when she'd been picked on in the standard size coop (which is why I reintro'd her to the silkie house).
I tend to agree with you @KikisGirls. Whatever her unseen "issues" were, she might not have made it another week at my friend's house. But I took to her and just kept pushing thru no matter what happened.I found a solution.
However it caught up, whatever the "it" was. I can not solve death.

On the coccidia topic:
I've never seen any chicken go down in 2 days esp while treated from cocci. Everyone all is perfectly fine.
I will go forward with the 5-7 days of Corid just in case.
Do we now think it was cocci? or her own biology giving out rather than disease process?

Awe..I am so sorry....:hugs

I am going to have to say that it may have been Coccidiosis but it most likely is something else related to what ever it was that was causing her to not grow normally.

Poor thing...may she RIP.

Your friend may have the cleanest coop and flock in the world...but be careful with bringing birds home to an existing flock.
She may have strains of "stuff" you don't have and her birds may be "immune" to those strains but yours may not...(If that makes sense...)

What I am trying to say (no coffee yet) is....If all of your others look OK I do not think I would continue with the Corid. I would save it for if/when you see signs again.

That makes sense. My friend and I have very different attitudes toward our chickens and all living creatures. Therefor his practices will be different too. Regardless, the strains of and immunity to other things does make sense.
Do you think it's best to dump all of the treated water and refill with fresh?

You should dump it within the 24 hours of when you made it.
Don't let it sit longer than that.

I gotta run...be back later today.
