My musical taste is varied and eclectic, and is heavily influenced by what I heard (and hated) listening to the music of my folks growing up, plus my own classical training in music. At the end of the day, I am, and will always be, a child of Metal. None of the cookie monster growling garbage that pervades so much of the genre today though. I want music you can understand delivered over blistering guitar riffs and driving drums.

Having said that, My favorite song changes a lot, depending on my mood and what I've been listening to recently. This week, the song I can't get out of my head is "Dragonfly" By Shaman's Harvest, which is several years old now and is more bluesy hard rock than metal. When all things are said and done, my absolute favorite song of all time is probably "Fade to Black" by Metallica.

Favorite vocalists for me is a bit different. I can sing fairly well myself, and I tend to gravitate to singers who share my range, and/or who are just amazing in general. Within metal, Geoff Tate formerly of Queensryche is, hands down, one of the best metal singers out there. Rob Halford of Judas Priest is also right up there, as is the late Freddy Mercury. I wish I had their top end range.

Stuff I can sing along with? Serj Tankian from System of a Down, Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, Dave Draiman of Disturbed, James Hetfield of Metallica are all in my range, though Draiman and Trent have lower bottom range than I do.

General singers who are awesome, Adele, Ariana Grande (does not get the credit she deserves as a musician, girl's got amazing pipes), Amy Lee of Evanescence, Alicia Keys, many others.
