Your favorite thing about Fall!

Feeling ready for winter.
The hay barn stacked full. The woodshed, ditto. Not this year, cause of me being sick, but usually the rows and rows and rows of home canned goods. Knowing whatever winter brings, we're ready!

I do hope you are feeling better!
I have to add that I love the smell of fresh hay and fresh straw! And fresh cut wood!

Bartholomew82...What do you fill the freezer with? Vegetables from the garden and/or bounty from hunting?

A bit of both. Had to buy a backup chest freezer last year. Between the garden, hunting and fishing we put up as much as we can to help get us through the year.
Harvested the last of my freezer peas a few days ago, the rest from here on out will be game from the woods and fields. I try to can as much of the veggies as I can, but some do end up in the freezer. I enjoy getting out and enjoying the great outdoors, and do quite a bit of small and large game hunting. So far I have a mess of squirrels inn it. Hope to have a Turkey and a few deer by thanksgiving, and if I'm lucky a bear.
:edit: I forgot to add we froze the chickens we butchered also.

Wow! Didn't expect BEAR! That's cool. Our freezer is more empty this year, Been working on Fort Knox run for the girls. and we moved my elderly mom from Las Vegas back home and she needs quite a bit of care. So my time went elsewhere. Good news is I have high hopes for next year! We have turkey and deer that cross our property but DSO no longer hunts and I don't either, but I do love a good garden!

Ah yes, apples and things that come from that! We have several apple trees and my favorite things to make is apple cider and butter! I also LOVE the smell of freshly fallen maple leaves. They smell so GOOD.

Camping....Fall has the perfect camping weather. Grab the kids, hook up the boat, throw in the poles and hit the river. Just can't beat it.
