UPDATE: Day 2
Ugg...where to begin. Walk into ICU to visit with my mom but yet she wasn't my mom. She is confused, hallucinating, vision is off, talking to ppl and things that aren't there. They did a CAT scan and it came back negative, so no initial signs of a stroke. No improvement all day. Before surgery she was given a patch behind her ear for nausea from the anesthia and the side effects from this patch are horrendous and she has most. I pray this is the problem and with time we will see improvement with her condition. It was determined that she received heart muscle damage during surgery but presently they don't seem to concerned with it. It's a wait and see situation. I will update again when I get home tomorrow. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

UPDATE: Hospital called and she is getting more agitated. They are presently looking for an all night 1 on 1 nurse to sit with her. The alternative is putting her in restraints but they are concerned about what her reaction is going to be if they try this. The nurse is going to call back within the hour.

I feel for you!!! Ugh, what a sad thing to be going through. For your whole family. Prayers for everyone.

Will anyone acknowledge if she had a lack of oxygen druing surgery? That would account for the dementia type behavior, and will reverse itself. Most medical personnel do not want to acknowledge this could have happened for obvious reasons. I pray she get back to her normal self very soon.
