They hatched out on December 13th. My nieces helped me name them. Actually the nieces wanted to name them Joseph and Wiseman, but I was hoping they were going to be girls. Oh well...

That would make them all 7-8 weeks old. I think they turn 8 weeks this week. Everybody hatched at the same time, but Vixen is a banty (a mille fleur d'uccle) and the others are standard size buff orp/wyandotte mixes. They are ginormous compared to the banty!

I've been told that genetically the white chicks from that SLWxBO mix HAVE to be boys. Bummer as I think they are really pretty and think it's fun that one got a rosecomb and one a single comb!

Do you think the buff is a boy too? I was hoping that I'd get a 50% male/female ratio out of this hatch. It looks roo-ish, but I've had a BO hen develop quickly and fool me until an egg popped out. I'm looking for homes for the other two, but may wait on the buff on the off-chance that he turns into a she.
