YYYAAAHHHOOO here we go a-hatchin for the first time!! Due 2/19

Just let it lower on its own..It will take a day or two but it does go down..I added more water to mine this am as it was at 32% added water and it got to 53% but I leave it because within 2 days its right down to 40% which is where I-personally-like it:)

So probably no complications with it being this high for a while during the time it is coming down on its own??

I have been shooting for 40%. It was 42% before eggs went in.

Thanks for being here with me.

He did wish me luck last night after I set them. He said his dad would want to wish me well and since his dad is no longer here to do that then he would.

For sure a keeper! Being at work is actually better-keeps your hands AWAY AND OUTTA OF THAT BATOR..There is no need to go in it until candeling day or in between either so keep yourslef busy and I will help you by sending electronic slaps of the hands-ask all my other babies mommas LOL....

Thank you all so very much. Chatting is good too even if you do not always have advice.

Remind me again what days I should shoot for to candle?

day 5 at earliest-warning as I have told all my Olive egger hatchers-they are usless to candle even to me I cant see in them but those have been awesome hatchers! day 6-7 is best-get a good BRIGHT candeler to have optimum visual satisfaction:)

Ok guys...temps are strong at 99.5. It seems like this is a touch LOW from what I have read. Should I try to increase by 1 degree? What are the pros and cons of this temp?

I remember my first hatch. It was my home made bator based on the MissPrissy / Speckled Hen plan. It was soo excitiing.

Check those eggs as much as you want. And you will get through the day. You will.

You are nuts, but you are among friends. A lot of nuts here.

What I had to learn is don't make adjustments to quickly. If you make a change, never change again for at least 20 - 30 minutes. Give it time to regulate.

This will be a special hatch and every hatch after this as incubating eggs will always remind you of your father-in-law.

Good Hatching to you!!!
