TinyBirds, I appreciate all of your words of encouragement and than you for shareing. I am thinking we all develop our oun processes that work for us, even if other disagree. Thank you for sharing what has worked for you. I am sure i will try different things beofre I can tell some newbie "what I would do if I were them".

How's it going today? I had to go to work so I'm anxious to get home to check humidity. I prob need to add water again... excited for the hatch to come soon!

Green food coloring has been used to mark the heads of the Light Brahma x EE chicks that hatched on Feb 15th. Black Permanent Marker was used on the middle toe of the right foot of the pure Light Brahmas for identification purposes.

Sorry for not checking in...Day 19 almost over. I put them in their fences for lockdown (I know I still owe you a pic.) I am trying to give them as much room as possible so put the prob from one thermometer in Reads 99.6 and took out the body. The small (Walmart) thermometer is setting on the wire. It reads only 98 degrees and 67% humidity.

Now the Walmart one and the other have been spot on for temp when it was on top of the eggs.

My question is - Is the temp that much lower on the wire as opposed to on top of the eggs or should I worry?

I couldn't leave the thermometer on the eggs during hatch could I? Where do you put yours for lockdown?

I am thinking that my fences broke up the air fow too much....I hate worrying!

aces, the temp is lower on the wire! Mine only said 99.3 this morning and it all worked out fine!

Well if whishing and hoping are doing...I am in like flynn - cause that make at least 3 of us who are hoping and wishing!
