Is that a hint?
I would dear, but I have no idea which forum I should put it in. You tell me where to stick it, and I'll happily do so!
Any suggestions?
Oh, and to answer your question: The foot print of the house is 1,500 square feet. There are large lofts on each end that add another 700+ square feet. Right around 2,200 square feet total. All built with our own hands, from scratch, no kits, and virtually no help from anyone.
The only parts that we contracted out have been the foundation (because if you mess that up, you've messed up the whole house!) the laying of the composition roofing (because winter was rapidly approaching) and the insulation in the cathedral ceiling that runs from one end of the house to the other (because they could do it better, faster and cheaper than we could!)
Come March 30th, we'll be starting our third year of construction. At the moment, we're at about 75% of completion. Now comes the really expensive stuff: i.e. flooring, cabinetry, fixtures and appliances. So far we've managed to do it all without taking out a mortgage. Our hope is to do it all mortgage free, or very near to it!
OK, I now return you to your regularly scheduled thread...with the promise of no more hijacking of this thread....I hope....maybe....ya know, sometimes it's just so hard for me to control myself! I know....I'm pathetic, huh?
