Zane Made REAL Progress (New Pics Pg 99)!RIP Lorelei...

I dont know how long the effect lasts. It started raining and they went inside so I'll check later, but you could see the ones that got some and tell the difference in the ones that didn't. Amazing. I know that there is a difference in olive oils, too. We keep extra virgin olive oil here, the most nutritious of them all. It's good for our hearts, so I'd think it has to be good for them, too. It sure seemed to get the circulation going!

Interesting with the bright red combs...

Glad the girls are feeling better...and glad that Zane got some sling time.

I'm so happy that things are looking up on at least some fronts!!!!
And the olive oil! Makes me want to go wake up BJ and Annie and give them some grain bread dipped in the oil but alas, I shall wait until tomorrow.

Sending many wishes for improvement each day for all.

Cyn I cant see into your wallet, nor have any idea on availabilty in your area, but I would like to reccomend that you give WHEATGERM OIL ... this is so much better than olive oil and provides many essential micronutrients missing in their feed.

Di, if I can find wheatgerm oil, I'll get some. I have been known to feed them untoasted wheatgerm added to their oatmeal. That, I know I can get. Haven't seen the oil, that I recall, but I'll look. If you looked into my wallet, you'd see a huge dark cavern, LOL. I still try to do what I can for my girls, short of actual vet visits.
Oh, just to let you all know, I put a huge plate of oatmeal with crumbled cornbread, olive oil, soaked in a little milk, crushed red pepper, blueberries, etc. out in the run. Ruby dove in with the rest of the girls! She has much more energy today. Lorelei ate some in a separate bowl, but sometimes she acts like she has trouble swallowing things and her neck area seems to bulge forward too much to me. She may have some sort of obstruction that is making it difficult to get some things down, just not sure. I may be totally off. Could be she's just so thin, it looks like it's bulging out when it really isn't.

I gave my girls an Extra Virgin Olive Oil bread treat yesterday and their combs and wattles are bright red now, too. I sure hope it helps them! I got 11 eggs from the 12 yesterday and most were smooth shells. The one that wasn't only had slight rippling! I hope that continues!

If the Wheat Germ Oil is better I will have to see about getting some. They sure liked the other.

Nancy Drew er I mean Cyn, you have done an outstanding job in figuring this out and with a lean pocket book...good job!
I wonder if they have the wheatgerm oil in the health food store, but in the mean time...oil is my choice for lack of extra $. You all are great, thanks for all the great advice.

It sounds like olive oil is the miracle oil! WOW! I am so happy that everyone's hens seem to be doing better.
