Prayer.jpg

I pray that whatever the family emergency is that it works out fast and well.

Zane-hang in there and keep improving!

Woke up to my son calling to tell me that my dad had been in the hospital in surgery all night. I hadn't been notified, that was the first I'd heard; my son had just heard himself and called me, wondered why I was in bed. So I made sure all the chickens had water and food and were secure and drove the two hours to the hospital.
My dad will be 87 in a few days, gets around fine, recently had knee surgery and was recovering nicely, loves to garden, etc. He's an old farm boy and you know how those keep on going. His own dad lived to be 100 years old. Well, apparently, yesterday when gardening, he was squatting down and when he tried to stand, an aneurysm behind the non-surgical knee exploded, sending stuff throughout his lower leg. They tried to get whatever particles out, but cant. He has no circulation below that knee at all and they dont believe he can ever get it back, meaning, amputation. He doesn't know that yet, being doped up on painkillers like he is at the moment. When he finds out, it wont be pretty.

I may not be available like I usually am for the next few days, especially once they go ahead with the amputation, that is, if he will allow it.

I am so sorry cyn I hope they don't have to amputate ! In the quaker tradition I will hold you and your family in the light. my grandfather was a very active man up untill he was 82 even with tripple heart bipass and cancer. When he was 83 he took a hard spill down a flight of stairs and had to have a shunt and did not walk again exept on a walker also the shunt must have taken something out of his brain because he was never quite the same. He was a great grandparent and I could not imagine being in a wheelchair and on oxegene for as long as he was. He passed away last christmas at 87. I hope that your father heals well and that these terriable troubles leave you soon! If he needs amputation talk to him about prostetic limbs.
I am so sorry know that there are allot of people here that are supporting you and your family,

Henry

Cyn, I'm so sorry these troubles keep plagging you!

Tell your Dad that if he sets his mind to it he can do all kinds of things after amputation. I have an uncle that had his own construction company with an amputated leg-and later the other leg. He would even be on the roof of the houses they were building. The only hang up he had was he would go up on one side of the house and end up down on the other side. One of the guys would go after his crutches for him. So there is life after amputation if he sets his mind to it!

P.S.-Don't worry about us here. We will understand your not being around much for a while. Update us on the whole family as you can.
