Zebra Finch Flying Around at Night

Hi,
I bought two zebra finches (male and female) about a month ago, since then they have bonded and laid eggs. Recently, I noticed that my male finch flies around a lot when the other is in the nest. He seemed to be going to sleep earlier before but lately he gets almost over active at night until I cover their cage. Does anyone know if that is normal or if it could mean anything?

He seems to be very happy, we take good care of them and we don’t have other pets. He could be but I am not sure why he would be.
