Zimecterin Gold has been recommended for treating tape and gape worms, but I do not know the dosage for chickens. My hens are 2-3 pounds each. How long is the treatment? Is a second application recommended? Assume eggs are to be dumped for 10-14 days following last treatment? If you have used this treatment, please let me know your treatment plan and success.

The following are doses to treat *tapes* in a *five* pound chicken.
Zimecterin Gold - 0.3 ml (dose is 0.06 ml per pound)
Equimax - 0.16 ml (dose is 0.033 ml per pound)

Equimax (14.03% praziquantel) has almost twice as much Praziquantel as Zimectrin Gold (7.75% praziquantel), so that's why you use about half as much.

Repeat dose in 10 days for tape worm.

If you are treating for gapeworm then Safeguard (fenbendazole) liquid goat wormer is better for those. Dose is .23ml per pound of weight for 5 days in a row.

Use an oral syringe to draw up the appropriate dose. You will often see 'pea sized' amount, pea size is not accurate so a syringe will give you the correct dose measurement.

Couple of good links on worming and wormers:

Can I administer both wormers at the same time?
