Anyone live on the gulf or near it?

I live about 15 miles from the Gulf...as the crow flies. Farther by highway. Near Galveston. We haven't had any of the oil wash up here yet, but the spill is so big, some could easily end up here. Some has started washing into the marshes in Louisiana. I am a wildlife rehabber...

    Mean white leghorn rooster

I agree....no shortage of roosters, no point keeping a mean one. I'm not afraid of him, and I forget about him most of the time, but if he thinks he can catch me with my back turned, I can hear him...usually...come running towards me. When I turn around, it is almost funny....he will start...

    Mean white leghorn rooster

I have a white leghorn rooster that came from the Humane Society. He was originally one of those dyed Easter chicks....survived that, adopted by me, and I got him a couple of EE hens. He should have lived happily ever after....but, oooooh, noooooo! He hates my guts. He has flogged me...

    Old hen....new to flock

Suzieq, that is why I didn't mention my wildlife. I have 13 possums right now....did have 72 a few weeks ago, and I feed the wild raccoons, which tend to help keep them out of my way. I get the food donated...free....and I feed about......60 raccoons every night! GASP!!!

Tell me something GOOD that happened to you today.

It's a little early for today....except, I woke up alive....so that's always a good sign. Yesterday the local county humane society made a big food donation to my friend and I, who are wildlife rehabbers. I also saw "my" alligator in the bayou....I always look for him, and a possum I...

    Survivor 20: Heroes vs. Villains

My husband is a good friend of Russell's father....works with him. He said Russell is nothing like the person he portrays on Survivor...he's a good guy, but he is tough. I like Russell. He's a hustler, in more ways than one, but he makes the show a whole lot more interesting than if he...
