Totally!!!
But don't work Hosspack (Rick) has quail too so I am sure he'll help you get hooked too. Oh and just noticed my "fowl" was changed to "foul" stupid auto correct.
Hi Ebony,
You will find many enablers that will get you hooked on some sort of foul :) I have Quail and Chickens. We raise our quail for eggs and meat. They are funny little birds too. There are a few of us Quail raisers here.
Hope you enjoy the group.
Welcome, Julie :)
I just ordered some Columbia Wyandotte and Partridge Rock Pullet chicks. I will be selling extras after I let them land and adjust for at least week to insure they are healthy enough for resale. If you are interested I can put you on a waiting list.
Thanks, Julie :)
My kiddos loved that park. It was a great day. I came home with some beautiful chickens and quail eggs that are now 5 week old chicks. You won't be disappointed.
I'm in the San Bernardino Mountains and we do not provide heat for our chickens even when it snows. I have clear tarps that I tarp off the run with to cut down wind and rain getting to them. We also have a 6x8 barn that is enclosed but it is not heated. Chicken do better in the cold than the...
That is a shame. I have seen both of those adds looking for fertile eggs. It didn't seem as though the add and the eggs fit together. I am sorry someone has stolen your beautiful picture. :(
Rick, David on CPP said he had 10 females I thouht and was rehoming them. :) I'll see if I can find it and tag you.
Sorry found he's no rehoming but looking for more. :( I tried.
You have got to be kidding me. Who hires these people for Animal Services? Yikes.
Sorry no room at this hotel for another Roo prospect. I have plenty Roos prospects to Rehome. :)
Anyone intersted in Blue Olive Egger or 2 Blue Marans most likely Roos about 5 weeks old?
We were very disappointed to say the least.
Heads up I believe they have the same code enforcement laws there for unincorporated San Bernardino County. Anything less than acre is zone per square footage for chickens. We are on a 7,000 Sq Ft lot 200 square feet short of 3 chickens. Just our luck...
It was a pretty big shock to me too. First off most people move to the mountain to get away from the "city mentality" and most are very neighborly. One of a neighbors is ready to bang down the door of the suspected rat because he loved our chickens as much as we did.
Rick I am answering this because I know Patty had mentioned she had mixed bantam in her lines and your year old BRLW is from her. She is small, but your younger one does look rooish.
LOL to Rick. Sometimes people do need to be reminded of their color genetics though. Give Oz a pass pretty please.
Oz I am finding most people are breeding blue to blue to get a wide variety of colors but I am on the hunt for Blues only and the last hatch I waited on produced only one blue...
Anyone in So Cal know anyone that has Blue Colored Olive Egger Chicks or young pullets? I can wait for another clutch to hatch but since I am looking for blue color specifically I would love to find someone with chicks on the ground already. Waiting may not produce blue since in order to get...
My layer flock is a flock of multiple breeds to make a colorful egg basket (Ameraucanas, Marans, Cream Legbar, Opigtons, Brahmas, Welsummers, Blue Andelusians, Speckled Sussexs, Salmon Favorelles. Everyone gets along fine. I even have a White Frizzled Bantam Cochin Rooster with the girls. It is...
Beautiful Coop. Can't wait to see it painted. I think they should be fine if you want to gve them some outside time in a temporary/ ver portable area try an dog Excersise pen with some poultry netting over the top.
Cute babies.
Welcome to the flock :)
LOL. It is one of these Chicken Meet-Ups that got me hooked. We only wanted 5 chickens for eggs. Now we have 25 Large fowl in our layer coop, 7 bantam Cochins, 13 eggs in the bator hatching anytime, and another 2 dozen + eggs to arrive and set later this week. You can say We've gone to the...
I will have a much Scratch and Peck that will fit in my Car. I live in Crestline (San Bernardino Mountains) and will happily meet folks for feed deliveries in the San Bernardio area for future reference.
- Julie :)
I personally Have fallen hard for my little Bantam Cochins. I am just smitten with the Mille Fluer coloration. I have 19 Mille Fleur and 6 Mottled eggs in the incubator right now.
Here are my two little Roos a few weeks ago. They are just geting more colorful as each day passes. Plus they are...
I have a Sulpha drug at home that cleared up a mysterious bug my older chicks got, I will be driving down the 15 through Temecula tomorrow. If you want I can bring you some with me and we can meet up in my travels for you to try with her. I don't know the name because it is at home and I am at...
