I've looked at your website before when looking for local ducks. Funny thing is, I remember looking at your house on homesdatabase when it was up for sale a few years ago. Such a cute house and a great location! (I swear I'm not a weird stalker, it's just not often you see red houses around...
I needed a female runner and really wanted a white one, but didn't want to buy 10 + straight run from Holderreads. Nicky (gofasterstripe) had some white runners, but she lives 9 1/2 hours away from me. Crazy hubby wanted a white runner so badly, he said, Let's go! So we took a road trip to get a...
that might have adult female runners for sale? I tried the bachelor pad thing with the 3 males I ended up with and it is not working at all. So my Ancona and Rouen are joining a lovely local farm full of females with a nice pond and we are keeping my Blue Runner and looking for a mate for him...
Took my daughter for her ortho consult this morning and low and behold, there were ducks everywhere. The office is right by a man made lake. But what struck me the most was that I was pretty sure most of the ducks were calls. There was a trio of white calls (I was tempted to snatch them!)...
They love to eat the little icicles that form on the outside of their water bowl on really cold days. And when I break up the ice from their pool and throw it out on the grass, they try to eat that too! Weird ducks!
...around there little webbed feet, I wouldn't have believed it! Who knew ducks were such awesome pets with as much personality as any dog or cat?!?
Merry Christmas from my boys, Hugo (the ?), Desmond (the Rouen), and Gerber (the Blue Runner)!
*edited to add the picture I forgot the first...
Google has been of no help. I have a Rhode Island Red, a Polish, and this chicken that I just can't figure out! And if it helps, she lays little white eggs. She's small too, about half the size of my Red. She's spunky though, definitely the queen bee around here!
Anyone know if pumpkin seeds are poisonous to ducks? We are carving pumpkins outside and I'm afraid they are going to eat them. I know pumpkin is ok from Nettie's list. Thanks!
He died somewhere around 5 this morning. He was still alive at 4:30 when I came out to make the coffee. Lots of tears this morning. I'm pretty sure it was pasteurella, coughing, bright green poop. I'm going to continue to treat all the ducks with the antibiotics for the full week, just to be...
One of my runners isn't feeling so good, has a croupy sounding "cough". I bought some tetracycline at the pet store (hoping to find Agrimycin at Tractor Supply tomorrow). What dosage of tetracycline can I give him?
Is this ok? Not that I'd be able to gather all the acorns in the yard. It's not a lot. They only eat the ones that break open, just a couple. I'm just worried they might get stuck inside of 'em. I threw down some extra grit in the yard where they normally forage. Crazy ducks!
Desmond and Penny finally noticed where we disappear to after we are done playing with them in the yard. They've taken to knocking on the door after we go inside. I love my ducks. They crack me up! Just click on the picture to see the video.
Are your chocolate runners still a good deal smaller? My choc. runner seems to be half the size of my blue runner. Just wondering. Hope all is well with you and your duckies!
Where did you get your kiddie pools? I got mine at Dollar General but it's not very deep. I'm looking for something wider and deeper. Wal-mart had one with a slide a few weeks back, but it had a hole!
Seriously, these two have been up to no good. So we spent most of the day chasing them out of our pool. Can't blame 'em. It was a hot one, but I'm so worried about them drinking the water. They were fine with their kiddie pool up until recently.
Now it's bed time. I'm out of peas. Even went to...
