Haven't been on a while, looks like a lot to catch up with. Hope all are doing well. Our winds have been absolutely horrible for weeks now but thought you might enjoy the shot of "Rooster in the Wind". Remington trying to navigate with a bit of a tailwind!
My official count for the hatch a long is 4 chicks, I believe I had set 5 with that broody. Altogether I ended up with 15 from 22 eggs. The broody hens pushed out the last four after all the others had been hatched at least two days earlier. I think they just wanted to tend chicks and not eggs also.
I'm no expert & I hope it all works out. I do know that egg shapes can very radically depending on breed. I have some as round as a ping pong ball and others so long and pointed you can't close the egg carton. I still don't know all the breeds I have and egg color and shape will hopefully help...

Suncatcher.. I wanted to see it all so badly but couldn't keep myself awake. Caught the tail end, wish I could have gotten photos but didn't wake up enough, Got up early enough to watch a gorgeous full moon set over the adobe hills with the sunrise just barely peaking in behind. Spectacular.

What load do you use? My son worked up a perfect, self disintegrating, no ricochet load, alllll my neighbors are hiring him ( pay is the ability to exterminate out of their cow/ horse pastures). Don't mean to be rude or disrespectful, they just cause so much damage to our local ranchers...
