can't get over this little duck :)

Sadly he died before I could figure out where his beak was. But on a better note all the other babies hatched so I'm proud that my first hatch I got 7/8 babies including two upside down ones :) they're so gorgeous I might explode. Thanks to everyone who gave me advice :)

How do you give chick crumb to ducklings? I've got a small dish of crumbs and a small bowl of water next to each other is this ok for them? Or do you wet chick crumb or anything? It's unmedicated.

They must do lol. These that have hatched are mini silver appleyards and they are so beautiful :) I've got 2 more on the way and 4 runners trying to hatch. It's a runner who's upside down bless him :)

Another external pip! And just to be awkward it's upside down again :/ these duckies are stubbourn. 2 fully hatched, 1 big hole, 1 upside down, 2 external pips and 2 lazy eggs lol.

For anyone wanting an update on my shrink wrapped duckie he is now out and all yolk has been absorbed. Will get a photo when he's fluffy :) His brother is trying to kick his shell off. There are 3 external pips, one is zipping and the others are still rocking :)

Yes I did thanks. I've got one who's externally pipped the wrong end of the egg but has her beak clear and is peeping. I posted in the duck forum and lacrystol has been excellent with this. His blood vessels hadn't receded enough but they've gone right down since this morning. I've been keeping...

Very loud peeping and rocking from some. One has made quite a large hole but it looks like the membrane is shrunk on him? I can see him moving well and his beak is clear of the membrane. He was a shipped egg and his air cell was saddle shaped if that makes a difference? You don't think they're...

Thanks. So if I wait till I get up in the morning about 8 hours time then see if anyone has externally pipped. If not a sterile hole gently put in near the chicks beak very carefully and then leave it be?

How long should I leave them? :/ don't want that I'd be gutted after getting this far if they died now. Especially since I've seen them moving around in there.

Internal only and they hadn't yesterday evening but when I've looked this evening they all have and could see dark quick shadows moving in the air cell area. I'm hoping for some external pips tonight/ tomorrow. The humidity is up to around 75-80% it's got some light fogging on parts of the sides...

Just candled because I was getting worried and all 8 have pipped and are wiggling round in the egg :) can't be long now! :D
