I've got 2 cockerels growing out very nicely, one has more of a gold color to his hackles and the other is more of a silver. Both are stunning! (except for the fowl pox)
Some Roo's do change their temperament when that happens, but mine generally keep the same personality/temperament. I can pick my favorite roo up and carry him around all day with no worries until...another roo comes close! He is still a boy after all.
I've got one that's 26 weeks and not the first egg! I have another about 22 weeks and nothing there either. It has been so hot this summer that I really don't expect them to lay until next month or so.
If you are just looking for a protector for your backyard flock, no big deal. If you are striving for show/high quality birds, not one you want to breed. Too bad you are so far away, I have 4 extras that are turning out beautiful birds.
Best of luck whichever way you go!
Here's a couple pics of my current roo. He is 20 wks in this pic. I think he is beautiful, but I'm new to this breed.
Here is a blue cockerel that is about 3 wks in this pic. He's gonna be nice too I think.
I've got 5 baby Isbars from GFF second importation. With my own "gender guessing" I think I have 2 boys and 3 girls. Time will tell better that I can though! I think I'm addicted to baby chicks :-)
I agree that the white one looks to be an American Breese roo. I have some of them from GFF and just love them! If you were closer I'd take him in a second. As to the others, they look like Isbars to me, but I'm still pretty new to them so I would be gender guessing at best! Enjoy them all!
