Hoping for a nice looking Blue Wheaten Roo eventually...

I'll probably bite it and order some chicks from Jean.

I can't wait! (of course with FOUR cockerals and ONE pullet ........)

I hatched *one* egg, a black cockerel, from a clutch of Ameraucana eggs I got from a BYC member last year. I can't decide what to do with this guy. I think he is really handsome but then I don't know the breed very well. I could keep him and try to find pullets to match!? Or I could breed him to my hatchery EE/"Ameraucanas." Or I could find him a new home before my husband "claims" him for the freezer...

Will you all help me to evaluate him? His name is Gonzo....

He's an araucana. He is bilaterally tufted, and is a good solid black boy. I would think that you could sell him and get some money for him. The only bad thing is that he is tailed.

I would pm ann cushing to see what she thinks.

Really? An araucana...monkey's uncle!
How to locate Ann?

Adam,

Do you know what the genetics are behind the brown reds. (In Genetics For Dummies terms)

I will get some in the future, but want to improve on them and I believe the only way to do it will be to outcross to another variety.

They run small.....
