Does anyone have an average age that BLR chickens tend to lay? Thanks!

Congrats! My little girl is about 18 weeks old, I still need to install nesting boxes so I was trying to gauge how many weeks my Hubby has to do it

I know exactly how you feel. I find it intriguing ? The chicks in this pic have the same parentage , yet look at the difference at 9 weeks.

So cute! Here's a bad picture of my little guys at around 1-2 days old and their cat slave. They were completely gray/blue when hatched.

Those don't look right... they should be chipmunk stripped

I think I need to get the light running in the coop with my blrw. My oldest pullet is nearly 30wks and I don't have any eggs from her yet!

there are 2 types of laced pattern birds... the 'dottes typically are on the partridge e-locus, while sebrights are on the birchen e-locus... so chicks will also appear differently.. it's possible that the variety in different countries may have a different base for the colors.

the difference being the partridge (eb) has a mostly black (blue) tail, while the sebrights have a laced tail feather.
