What treat did your chickies get today?

Local produce/grocer handed my wife these freebie boxes of berries for chickies these week, they're thankful since rain confined them for a day or 2.

Mine got dried mealworms. Boy did they love them. At least the adult hens did. The babies don't seem to know what to do with them. I want to start raising my own mealworms but I haven't gotten the set up worked out yet.

Nothing yet today other than their morning slice of WW bread to get them moving out of the coop.

Yesterday they enjoyed a de-boned Turkey breast carcass. So darned funny watching them run around with a keel bone in their beaks.

The chicks that are too little to free range yet got two big buckets of weeds from the garden. The rest got some scattered BOSS.

My big hens got oats, greens, insects and worms, my 9 & 1/2 weeks old chicks got oats, insects and greens and my meaties got oats and greens.
All is well on our homestead today and the weather is beautiful! The piggies will get their treats when my DH gets home. We have some generous local grocers that save produce for us.

I gave them about 25lbs of tofu today, and they tore into it like savage beast, I rarely see them eat anything that aggressively and fast...

Corn on the cobs, the 12 wk olds just walk away from them while my layers fought for it like its a gladiator prize.
