I like the fact the you reused materials for the base and that you painted it to match your shed. Out of curiosity how do you get to the inside of the coop to clean? And what materials were used for the roof and insulation?
Beautiful coop! I really like the details about the roosts and what you changed during construction. It definitely looks like you need more vents or even ditching the vents and going with air conditioning depending on just how hot it gets since you are in a desert
Neat coop. It would be helpful if you added measurements and some more photos from the build. Looks like it has plenty of ventilation. How many hens are you planning on getting?
Cute coop! The siding looks wonderful and I appreciate the details on the material used. Any idea how much the total cost was for materials? Personally I would use 1/4 inch hardware cloth at the top since snakes and smaller rodents can fit through chicken wire easily.
We could use some more details about things such as roost height and the height of the coop itself and the amount of ventilation. It also wasn’t very clear how much space there was in the run and in the coop. An update about whether or not it was big enough and how it held up under the cold snowy weather would be good too.
Great article! I just started incubating my first batch of eggs and was looking for photos of what it should look like when I candle in a few days! I really appreciate that you showed how to tell egg shell quality!
