Information all can use and much we need to know. I read somewhere not to use your foot, now I know why. I will be re-reading parts of this article over. I may try slowly, over time, the grooming. Thank you

Good Article and I like the list. We do feed a little dry cat food but probably only several pieces each, 4 days a week. Thanks for the information.

Your article answers questions as I have read websites, pages, etc. that have a number of different spellings. I enjoy learning, thank you for a well written article.

Nice article and great with all the pictures of the project. I started with the pics at the bottom and went up, then read your story. Good size for 6 chickens in a neighborhood. Good job, I could not have done this w/o my husband.

So good to have all this information in one article. I will say it took me longer to read it as I would read then look at the diagram and so on. Many many facts I did not know. Thank you for compiling this for us.
Wonderful! Just what I was looking to find. I am going to have to read it a few times and make notes. Thank you for such an in-depth article. I look forward to trying this...after I read and reread and find healthy sources.

Very good article. Easy to read, understand and true. We have about 3 sq ft per bird, a little more, but we let them out every morning to free range with only 3-6 days a year when they are confined to coop & run due to temps below 10. The flock gets along well. Thank you.

Excellent article. I have noticed our hens calling/singing "after" they lay their egg, and Senior Roo, calls and usually goes to them. Sometimes, he makes a nest more comfy for them.

I like this and we have a couple of coolers that we almost threw out, but I keep almost everything.
The instructions are detailed, which I need and like.
I am going to try filling it with very warm water this winter and see how long it will stay liquid and the nipples not freeze, in below 32 degrees, without the purchase of a heater. Then do it again but after a few hours, add a bottle of hot water to the warm water. Experiments. Thanks for the idea.

Nice coop and pictures of the progress, also with prices included.
My concern would be the glass bottles on the top shelf. Though a decorative touch, they "seem" out of reach but a few of our hens have flown the same distance (diagonal and up), to roost at the highest point. I would be concerned about broken glass and injured chickens. Other than that, it is an attractive coop and I good price/cost.

I like the simplicity and the narrow size for use in a corner of a smaller coop (8' x 4.5' x 8't). For under $10, worth a try.
I agree, interesting. All this helps me to learn. Are you a vet/vet tech? How did you perform doing the sutures?

I like this idea. I will probably use a 3 gal and maybe have it 4" above the ground. Yes I know they will kick some dirt in it, but not much as they free range all but several days a year. I will try it with straw around the top/over the dirt. I can pick out the straw. Not worried about the dirt as they get it in their bowls now and think it yummy.

I like the idea. As we have 9wk chicks that are finally meandering over to the other coop, as of tomorrow, only crumbles. Of course the 5.5 wk chicks will be free ranging soon.
We're going to see if we can set up a few smaller feed stations, using the same premise. I'll be drawing and checking on "things" to us to make them.

I agree. Also adding size of width/length. We have 1 coop at only 8' x 4.5 x 8'. The 4.5W is too narrow. I would have preferred 6'. Of course our 8'x8'x9' is wonderful. Thank you for the article.
