Leghorn California White White Leghorn And California Gray Mixed

Does any member know where I can buy California Gray breeder cockerels from. I'm interested in starting my own chicken hatchery. Thanks

I have looked on the internet and no matter where I looked they don't have them or are sold out for this year already. I was looking to get some also. If you find any let me know and I'll do the same.

I love my white leghorns. I have 2 white and 2 brown leghorns. The whites are much friendlier than the browns and do lay larger eggs. I intend to get 2 more this spring during chick days.

They dont look like any ca. leghorns ive seen advertized.They just look like white leghorns.
Im not saying theres anything wrong with that though.

To kapie9969 - Basically this hybrid is a slightly larger sized bird from a regular White Leghorn but the temperament of the skittish White Leghorn is diffused with a calmer temperament in the California White hybrid. I love White Legs as ours was a gentle alpha leader. However the only way to get a calmer Leg is to get it hybrid w/ some other breed.

We have a Buff Leghorn breed that is much calmer in temperament than our White Leg was. Because other Buff breeds were used to create the Buff Leghorn variety our Buff Leg is calmer, less skittish, than the White variety. The one drawback is that we got the Buff before the white eggs were perfected so she still lays pink tan M-LG eggs rather than the XL snow white eggs of her White Leg cousin but she is just as prolific and has a slightly smaller single comb that we like better than the huge floppy fleshy comb of the Whites or Brown Legs.

I just got a cali white to replace a leghorn that we recently lost. She's about 19-21 weeks hoping she starts laying soon. she's a bit skittish though cause she wasn't handled much. Hoping she warms up to us soon

I just bought 5 california whites from tractor supply! They are all white with black spots like a dalmatian. Found this old thread because uze i forgot what they were called as soon as i left the store

I will take some in a little bit. I had never heared of them before and definitely ddint need any more chickens i just coyldnt resist their little spots

Don’t know if I’m 10 years too late haha but I breed them!
