Excellent advice, especially on cleaning the wound.

I just want to share, that my "intensive care hospital" is a bathtub in a small bathroom I can heat or cool separately if need be. It's perfect to keep an injured bird clean, peaceful & comfortable while healing. So easy to clean! I have another hospital, a 6x6 room in an outbuilding I can also heat or cool, I use woodchip flakes there, but the bathtub in the house is great when a bird needs more TLC & attention & I don’t want woodchips, I will use washable towels or puppy pee pads, depending upon the injury, if the bird pecks at pee pads, or the bird's droppings. An extra large dog carrier can also work if you don't have a spare bathroom.

Thanks for sharing the benefits of honey & sugar. The 1st time I heard of sugar treatment was many years ago, an elderly man with a lot of experience told me that after a vent prolapse, I can clean the area, soak in warm water to rehydrate & clean, then pack it with sugar & gently push, working it back inside. It was weird to me & kinda sticky gooey with the sugar. It only popped back out 2 times, but each time, he said just repeat the process & eventually the sugar will help it stay in & help promote healing. I was amazed, it played out just as he said & that hen never prolapsed again.

Sugar...who would've thought! Amazing! 👍
Very helpful! Thank you!
Nice step by step article on wound treatment
Really like. Very detailed and informative. Graphic pics but expected/needed in this kind of article.
Really good instructions on treating a nasty wound, but totally applicable to most minor ones. The bonus here is an extremely basic first-aid kit list. Well done!
Great example of the powers of MediHoney.
