Hello again!

We finally finished our coop and the chickens have been having a blast. It’s a bit of an odd design but we love it and like how moveable it is. On the coop, the front has a latch for easy access to the eggs. On both sides there are windows for plenty of sunlight and lots of ventilation. When it is time to clean it, we can move the run, lift the roof on the coop and sweep it all out. On top of the run, we are able to lift the roof for easy access for food and water. The kids love being able to watch the chickens and throw them some goodies every once in a while.

We have ten chickens at the moment. Two barred rock: Cupcake and Johnny Cash, two Rhode Island reds: North and Goldie, two Andalusian: Elvis and Dottie, two golden laced Wyandotte’s: Freckles and Scarlett, and two isa browns: Sunshine and Rae. Sadly out of all ten it looks like we have three roosters! Some tough choices will have to be made which I am not looking forward too. We plan to keep one and the husband wants to eat the other two. I’m trying to find a home for one of them. I hope to save one but if not, oh well I guess.

Have a great day!!!
