Well i did it, i let them out.
They had a great time, never got far from the pen, went around it 10 times and learned about getting in and out.

I feel better now LOL

It only took them about 10 minutes to start dust bathing in the area i made for my other birds

They did great around all the other animals, but did not like the chickens getting into their pen.

Oh man I want to get some of mine to free-range! They are soo cute that is wonderful that they are doing well free-ranging. So far your free-ranging has a way better start then mine did.

They got picked on a bit by a few guineas, i laughed so hard i almost cried, one of the guines tried to run at the male he jumped straight up in the air and landed behind the charging guinea.

Silly guinea was looking all over for the invisable Pea and when he turned around the male was standing over him, i thought that guinea was gona have a heart attack,he let out a squack/chatter and took off never to be seen again by Mr. Pea.

Mine are still babies don't know where they would go if they left but i am sure i could get them back, they come when i call them, thats why i went ahead and let them out, i was waiting for that.

My Cockatoo "Casey "flies up in the trees all the time. i use to worry but she comes down most of the time when i call her or gets hungry.

This is her having my breakfast as usual.

Yes she is.
Eggs over med,wheat toast and cherrios with milk.
If i don't give her her own she tries to take it out of my mouth while i am eating.

My first birds were adults and were used to free-ranging somewere else. They grew up wild at the zoo so I should have known it would be hard to keep them around. The male ran away and a few people saw him, but we didn't. The peahen soon followed but luckily we caught her in a backyard and still have her. When I free-range again, it will be with young birds for sure, I really do want to free-range two of my yearlings. I didn't raise them we just bought them as yearlings but I have had them for about a year now and I feel sad because I love them and want them to have fun free-ranging, but I don't want them to run away. I think it is great that your peas are having fun, when I free-ranged my first peafowl they were trying all the plants, flying up in all the big oak trees, and running in and out of the barn.
 
Zazouse, your birds are beautiful. I only have one white hen....I am thinking about getting a male and start breeding next year. I so want to free range her, but I am afraid. if she would go away I would be heart broken...all of my chickens are in the hen house with runs to them..but I tried free ranging,but when I wasn't home someone's hunting dog came by....need I say more?
