Hello! We have two batches of chickens...the one in question in this post was supposedly pullet, but as you can see from this post: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=493107 we were already wrong about one of the chicks from that batch-a GLW.

We had separated the GLW initially because one of our white girls was being picked on, we assumed by him. Her back was being plucked and she was bloody. Much to our surprise, we think it's this barred rock babe who is doing all the damage - because the other chicks in with her now also have picked on backs. Could she be a roo or is she just a jerk? We got these chicks on 4/26, I think... and they were likely a few days to a week old at that point. I'll post some pics and please let me know what you think!

Here's her "crazy eye." Her head is like an eagle....and her eyelid slopes down like she's angry! lol

Our other pullets didn't know what to make of her and were making all sorts of noises!

Pullet. I think BR pullets just have bigger combs that develop earlier with a pink/red tinge to it. That is based on my observations in my own 4 week old pullets. I have 3 BR, 3 Golden Comets, and 4 Black Sex-Links.

Here is my 4 week old BR pullet on the far left:

Also, a link that someone posted the other day. It is a progressive photo log of a BR pullet.

Its all girl, and the barring pattern is more blacker than white. If it had more wider white pattern, then it would have been a boy.

Enjoy that bully!
