I have had a few people that are interested in ordering goslings from metzer in March. FrChuckW and Mojo Chik'n are two, dreamcatcher(?) is another. I need you to PM with what you are wanting. I have Mojo's already, but I need the others pm's.

Please check out metzer's goose page first, before telling me what you want. http://www.metzerfarms.com/goose.htm

The
breeds that are marked with an asterick (*) can only be ordered as pairs or straight run This means that you get one male and one female, or you get what they send you.

If you order White Chinese, Embden, Toulouse or African goslings, they can only send two more females than males per breed. In other words, if you order five males, they can send a maximum of seven females. This is to prevent an over abundance of males.

This is the only site I have found that 1) sexes their goslings; and 2) has such a wide selection.

They have sebastopols!!

You don't have to order what someone else is ordering, but we need to stick to just geese. I'm not sure if they will mix geese/ducks in the same shipment, and would hate to find out the hard way!

This will save all of us from having to buy the 8 gosling minimum, and save us on shipping. You can order as few as one gosling if you would like, since we have our quota already.

Please PM me with your order. The receiving date *should* be the last Wednesday in March.

This is a great deal people!! Get those buffs, sebastopols, tufteds...whichever you want, without having to break the bank!

ETA: METZER'S SITE SAYS THEY WILL HAVE LIMITED AMOUNTS OF CERTAIN BREEDS THIS YEAR. I WILL BE PLACING THE ORDER NO LATER THAN FEBRUARY 14TH. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU WANT BEFORE THEN.

ETA: REMEMBER TO ADD $1.35 TO YOUR ORDER PER BIRD IF YOU WANT THEM SEXED.

I'm going to keep a tally here of who wants what, that way you and I both know what you are getting. That way, if I mess up, or you forget how many of what you ordered, you can let me know.

FrChuckW: 1 PAIR PILGRIM ($31.30 + shipping)
FLOWERPOT: 1 PAIR AMERICAN BUFF ($31.30 + shipping)

The toulouse, embden, white chinese and african are the only ones that you can get trios of. All others have to be either pairs or straight run. So you want a pair of american buffs?

Shelley, Yes I still want the pair of Pilgrims, at $14.30 each, should be $28.60. plus my portion of the shipping charges.

Also in rereading the Metzer site about the certain breeds it said that you can order one more female than males, so if they ordered 5 males they could get 10 females.

I just checked it, and it said not more than 2 females extra for the 4 breeds I listed. I copied and pasted it directly from their site.

For the White Chinese, Embden, Toulouse and African you can only order up two more females than males (pairs, one female, two females, one male and three females, two males and four females, etc.). The remaining breeds can only be sold straight run (not sexed) or in pairs. Canada geese are only sold straight run. Call if you have a question.

This is the paragraph straight from their site. So If I read it correctly I could order:

1 pair - Male & Female
1 pair plus one female
2 females
2 females plus one male and one more female
2 males and 4 females
3 males and 6 females
4 males and 8 females
5 males and 10 females

Thus keeping with their limit of two females for each male/pair. The only one I don't understand is their one male and three females. I can call them tomorrow if you want to verify that info for you.

Well, the first part says '1 female, 2 females, 1 male + 3 females (2 extra),
2 males and 4 females (2 pair+2 females).'

The part I copied about the 'If you order White Chinese, Embden, Toulouse or African goslings, they can only send two more females than males per breed. In other words, if you order five males, they can send a maximum of seven females. This is to prevent an over abundance of males.' was straight from their site also.
So I would say it would be:
1 pair (m+f)
1 female
2 females
1 pair (m+f) + 2 females
2 pair (m+f) + 2 females
3 pair (m+f) + 2 females
....and so on. The part I saw specifically said no more than 2 extra females.
