OOh the baby duck pictures are sooo cute! Makes me very impatient for my duck eggs to hatch.
I took pictures of my Black Giant four week olds. You guys better pick out which ones you want- i will be bringing the boys to Chicken Stock. I just know that the ones that love me are boys, but you be the judge. Only one has short stubby tail feathers just coming in, the other three have tons of feathers.

What cute ducks and chicks guys.

I just can't stay out of the yard. I am gonna need sunscreen. Got a couple of loads of laundry hanging out on the line, raked and weeded the front flower bed, cleaned up the feed shed and burned all of our burnables. Even took some time to hang out with the chickens. It is just BEAUTIFUL outside.

Got a call from TSC our 6 turkeys are in and ready for pick up. My husband just had to have some Broad Breast types to put in the freezer.

My neighbors keeps talking about getting chickens to raise, I think I will give them some chicks when my eggs hatch. They always let us borrow things if needed and before we got a tractor he plowed our driveway a couple times last year.

thats why I am blonde...lol.. Yep, they are Jersey Giants...black Jersey giants...lol.

And they are so sweet and sit all over me...and I cant have a rooster, and it looks like I hatched three of them out of four.
 
Good evening all,
I love all the pics of the baby ducks and chicks. I wanted ducks but since DH is going to build a hoop house for me I decided not to get any. I also felt that it would not be fair to DH since he will have to take care of all the animals on the days I am not able. He does so much already. So far I have done really well with taking care of the chickens. I haven't had to ask him once to do any chicken chores.
We are no longer empty nesters. My youngest son has moved back home and since he plays an online game I am limited with my internet time.

I told him that he might want to think about getting a second phone line put in.
DH told me tonight that someone from work was wanting to know if we want any chickens and rabbits. I guess he knows someone that is looking to get rid of all theirs. I said no because we have quite a few now.

We also have the new turkeys in the other end right now. When we picked up the 6 we ordered, the lady asked us if we wanted to take home the 3 that weren't doing well. We did. My son Collin was with me and didn't want to leave them there to die. So now they are in the brooder too. One seems to be doing really well, one is ok, and the one that kept laying down and looking kinda dead seems to be coming around. I got it to take some scrambled eggs and water. At least now it is on it's feet looking sleepy, not sprawled out on it's back with it's legs sticking out looking dead. I am sure I will be up a couple time thru the night to check on them.
 
I went to Livingston Feed and Seed yesterday for chickens food and walked out with 9 chicks (4 are for the neighbor that has decided chickens would be fun to raise)!! A few of which are the blondest EEers I've ever seen, well I digress. Hubby walks in and wonders why it is so much louder in the living room? If looks could kill. Good thing I could hand him a pint and claim homemade Irish soda bread and corn beef and cabbage!! I'm in love with these new chicks. There is one that is supposed to be an EE but I don't think it is. I'll have to take a pic and get some more seasoned opinions!

I've been looking 18 months and have not found any. Maybe someone in the group has some for sale.
