Hey y'all. Just wondering if anyone (or if you know of anyone) in Alabama takes in "special needs" chickens. Help! I am astonished and need advice!
Since it doesn't seem like I can make the problem any worse, I have been feeding my hen cottage cheese with a tums ultra crushed up in it. So far it hasn't helped any. Yesterday she laid two shell-less eggs and today another. I am going to keep it up and see if there is any improvement.- Back2MyRoots

Oy. So have you tried upping the calcium intake too? Someone had a thread about giving them calcium in the form of tums. I don't even know if that would help. Is this actually internal laying?- Back2MyRoots

"Cross-Beak" What should I expect?
The feed store the chick came from said they will exchange. I know it's the easy way out, but I won't have to put the little lady down myself and I will get to replace the chick at no charge. The reasonable side of me knows this is the best thing to do. The marsh mellow in me is throwing a fit.- Back2MyRoots
