Just a little tidbit on the feathering out bit...
I recently hatched some 1st gen EEs. I watched the tail-feathering closely on about 5 and those that were "supposed" to be girls were boys and vice versa. I don't think this method is reliable at all. Other indicators are better.
Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I am meeting someone today who wants them--but I will let you know if it actually happens. Sometimes something comes up....
Thanks again!
Hi, No the ones from this hatch I am keeping haven't started laying yet.
However I know they will lay blue/green eggs because the blue gene is dominant and that's what they received from the dad [who is pure Ameraucana [not an EE]].
If the dad were an EE they you'd have no idea what color...
Hi EE lovers!
I have some sweet started pullets available - 1st generation so will lay blue green eggs. Bearded and dark legs. Black and blue. Here is the listing if anyone is interested...
I have four 1st generation Easter Egger pullets. I hatched these. Three are black and one blue. All are bearded and have darker legs. Very cute! I just can't keep them all.
The father was a pure blue Ameraucana [not EE]. Mothers were a black australorp and a barred rock.
So these are...

Good about wrapping it in a wet towel. Keep the membrane wet or he could get "shrink wrapped". I'd use tweezers and open a little clear air hole where his beak is, removing a little egg shell for him to breathe out of, and keep the membrane wet and let him hatch in his correct time.
I don't have an AM roo anymore, sorry, but the best AM blues generally come from Wheaten or Blue Wheaten pure Ameraucanas [not Easter Eggers]. Look in the classifieds as there are other breeders who sell hatching eggs from stock that have wonderful blue-egg genes. Also look on the Ameraucana...
He is pretty!
I have two black silkie crosses [with an Ameraucana] that are just starting to get these creamy-white feathers on their necks and back. Wow. Now I know what they would look like!!!
Mine have beards and a crest too. They're 4 months old.
If anyone would like them, please let...
