They don't eat fruit, but our dirt is very weird here, so could be that. they eat a TON of greenery around the property though of course. Otherwise, they are their normal selves. I will give them a little coconut oil today, thank you for this information!

*** Has anyone tried using heat tape around PVC pipes for waterer that doesn't need to be plugged in for heat? my husband works as a construction project manager and he says they use heat tape around pipe to keep them from freezing in the winter -- we may try this option!
Thank you for providing this information and a picture. I have the same waterer, and have tried to fill it right in the coop, but every time I put the lid on, it seems to overflow getting the shavings wet, so I haven't quite figured it out yet!
