Gudday BYC,
My Isa Brown chicken Henrietta has some sort of illness and I don't know how to help her.
She moves slowly and she often just stands there with her feathers all puffed up looking sleepy.
She is about 2 years old, and her sister is experiencing the same sort of illness but not as bad...

Hello BYC!
We have just got two new different breeds of chickens and my two older is a browns are very stressed and seem to be stressed and upset!:( The two new ones are quite comfortable though.
I'm concerned for my two old Isa browns though and worried of they could die from stress!!
Do you...
Hi everyone,
last night when I went to put my four chickens to bed, only two came out.
I went around the back and found my other two lying near eachother dead.
They were covered in ants and one of the ones who died was my only living EX battery hen! :( The other one was still young.

Hello everyone!
The photo I attached shows my girls ready for roosting on a perch in our large bird aviary.
We don't have a hen house so we use the aviary instead.
They share the aviary with my dad's pet major mitchell cockatoo.
They have a feeder, water, nesting boxes, perches, space and are...
Our chickens are free range and they stay in a large open area out the back during the day and are kept in a large bird cage at night. We also have a dog (kelpie), but he's not a very good guard dog (he can be a scary cat!). Is having a dog wandering around the yard good to keep foxes away? Will...
I see the problem....

It worked when I tried it with my girls.
Good Luck!

There are many helpless chickens suffering in battery farms.
As soon as they're born, a part of their beaks are cut of with hot iron, and all the poor baby cockerels are killed or thrown into rubbish bags alive. They are forced to stand night and day on a sloping...

I've spotted them before and one was just a a few metres away!
Our poor girls have been attacked by foxes before and I need to know some good ways
to keep them from being attacked!
PLEASE HELP!!
Well, my girls LOVE parrot seed!
It's a mixture of corn, wheat and sunflower seeds.
Their favourite is the sunflower seeds though.
They always peck out the sunflower seeds first then eat the rest after.
Parrot seed is like lollies to chickens.
They aren't expensive either.
I suggest parrot...
You're not alone!
My three young girls throw up that water stuff too.
They don't do it very often though.
I noticed when they do it, they don't look sick at all!
It's a normal thing!
Hello everyone,
My girls seem to love pecking at my boots and my jeans.
I have no idea why they're doing it!
Do they like the taste of leather?
If you know why they're doing this, is it a bad thing?
Will it make them ill?
