    My BR was molting normally but yesterday she looked terrible. She had no feathers on her neck and half of her tail feathers were missing. Today she looked a little better but she was still pale and somewhat featherless in those areas. What is happening?

    Egg Color?

    I heard that Barred Rocks are supposed to lay blueish eggs. Is this true? Mine just started laying and I am getting this pale-ish egg sometimes with brown spots. I'm sometimes not even sure if they're hers.They could be me RIR but she was laying BROWN eggs. Is this normal? will the egg color change?

    Can't decide the breed I want!

    Barred Rocks and Rhode ISland REds are wonderful. I am a first time chicken owner and I love my two. They are definetly cold hardy and they are good together. BRs are sooo sweet. I would get them.
