    Wood pallet Palace...sort of

Hi all! I decided that some plans I purchased on ebay were too much for my little space and the coop itself too small for anything other than chicks for the future (or a turkey possible runner ducks) so I went for wood pallet coop instead. Recent experiences using wood pallets as a block...

    Foamy eye

Good day all Well my second round of chickens have proven for some reason more difficult to sell and raise. I lost four in the first week along. Anyway, today the now 19 week olds haven't laid but one bird, Red Star named Rhonda has a foamy eye. I found info here and isolated her even...

Two Great Videos - Building Chicken Coops for Dummies

Love it! I have a coop in mind but I'm getting this anyway as you can not have too much info on chicken housing.

From shipping crate to Pallet Coop (w/ pics)

Really nice job you did there! I can only hope my coop is as nice but as I am leaving all the pallet wood intact covered with hardwire cloth, I'll be happy just to get a decent roof made. I really like the roosts too.

Lets see your Ugly Pallet Coop!!

All these coops are clever and beautiful with or without paint they all rock. I have scraped my original plans purchased from ebay as they are nice but the coop itself is too small to clean up properly like. Might be good for something else like a play house for pet birds who need a safe place...

2 yr old layers Friendly and one goes broody

They are two years old so all they need is housing, water and your property to free range! All chickens came from McMurrays which is where my new stock of chickens is coming from so no room for the gals. They free range all day and I do have a broody one who needs a job other than puffing up...

    Chick NAMES?????

I'm lazy. I usually name them something that has the first initial of their breed. So this time around I have Red Stars and Black stars, I'm only keeping a few so I might go with Rose, Ronda, Bondie and Hippy (she got her name early). Silver Laced will have Siadna, Suzy, New Hampshires, Nina...

    Yay new chickies!

Thanks! My second run is turning out okay so far. Didn't know our temps would drop so much at night so I had to put a light out there for them. They seem not to mind the heat as the kiddie pool they are in is on straight on the Earth concrete. Just put them to bed so we'll see how the one...

FINALLY, they are out of the brooder......here we go (pics)

Love the coop! I am looking at a few plans to keep my new coop tall but more functional than my self built/planned coop. I also wanted a roof that didn't need tarps :p /knows nxt to nothing about building roofs We have sweltering heat and cold winters sometimes with snow so a good run for the...
