Is anyone looking to get rid of a few ducks? I have room in my flock I could adopt two. I might be able to adopt more depending on how my original two do with the additions.
Thanks both of you. I'll be sure to look around both places. As far as adopting goes I am currently reaching out to people who have mentioned rehoming. Most of them haven't gotten back to me yet so its just a matter of waiting patiently. As far as tractor supply goes the one I bought my original...
Bump and updating lol. My last post I asked for specific breeds bc id recently lost babies of the same breed. But I love any and all ducks which is why I said id like any breed before then. Sorry for any confusion.
@Stake I think they mean considering all of the factors including natural deaths and males vs females along with if you eat them or sell them. But I really have no clue so I'm just guessing lol. We were thinking about getting 15 ducks vs 10 of them. I guess the main difference is we would be...
We already have a pair of Khaki Campbell's. They are so sweet. Funny thing is Floppy (our drake) can fly. He discovered that when he was about a year and a half. He took off flew about 20 feet off the ground and was headed to the park until he realized that I wasn't following him. Silly guy...
We were planning on around 15 acres. We want them for pets and because we love ducks. Of course, eggs are a plus and excess ducklings/birds would be sold. I don't know if we could bring ourselves to eat them :/ the land we were looking at has a river going through it. I figured any waterfowl...
Hey guys, my fiance and I are planning on buying some land in New Hampshire and raising some ducks. Anyone have a suggestion as to how many would be a good amount for us? We were thinking about buying more Khaki Campbell's or getting the hatchery mixed ducklings from Metzer's farm. I'd be...
Yes thank God. Floppy (my drake) is currently trying to figure out how to make clover have ducklings lol.Maybe they'll figure it out in time to have a bit this year ?
Thanks for the advice. I know this response is late. I went searching for an avian vet and found the nearest one three hours away. I wish I'd had the money to take her. She did start drinking and eating a little but she got really mean. I think she was just so miserable that she didn't want to...
I haven't taken him to the park in the last 6 months or so becaus he got into the habit of trying to lead me home. Which would've been fine but he knows exactly where we cross the roads and he never watches out for cars so I have to race an oncoming car just to catch him so he doesn't get run...
Thanks guys. I don't think any of the ducks I've owned have ever had the avian flu then. The symptoms don't sound familiar and I keep my babies inside with me for the most part.
