9 Week old chick with wry neck - no improvement?

We have a chick that has wry neck since she was about 2 weeks old and we've tried multiple treatments such as vitamin e capsules and tumeric tea. Since a week ago I bought a multivitamin tablet which I crush up and give to my chick (contains vitamin B complex, selenium , vitamin e and other...

    Possibly early stage of bumblefoot?

My rooster has bumblefoot on his toe which I am treating, but on his other leg he has swelling on his footpad and limps. There is no scab that I can see on his footpad, is this an early stage of bumblefoot? It is soft to touch. How should I treat an early case of bumblefoot?

    Bumblefoot and natural treatment

I know this is an old thread but I would like to try this method! I have put on lucas paw paw, tea tree and chamomile oil on a gauze and put it on my rooster's foot and bandaged it up. Could you tell me how much you put on his foot? And if your roo's better now :)

    Rooster has bumblefoot!

Oh! I forgot to say that my rooster has it on his toe, not on his footpad. I did some more research, says that it is suppose to be "hard like a peanut" but my rooster still has a soft "ball" ... well it isn't the softest but it is not hard like a peanut Does this mean it's not the worse case...

    Rooster has bumblefoot!

I shall try and take pictures when I try and do the surgery again tomorrow The frustrating thing about living here is we do not have triple antibiotic ointments and vetericyn, they all sound promising for chicken health They also dont sell vet wrap here so I'm using human bandages How long...

    Rooster has bumblefoot!

While I was doing the surgery I tried and squeezed around the "ball" on his foot for a hard mass, I dont think there is a kernel but then again I do not know how hard it would feel. I found some stringy bits which I pulled out. Is it easy to do the surgery? The whole cutting open the "ball" and...

    Rooster has bumblefoot!

OK thank you, I will look around for vetericyn but I do not think they sell it in new zealand,. All I did was I washed his foot with Epsom salt (he was very fidgety and didn't want to stay in the tub of Epsom salt water) and picked out the scab and picked around with tweezers, I didn't go deep...

    Sneezing, wheezing and ruffled feathers?

My rhode island red has been sneezing a little bit for the past few days but today's been worse. What can I do to treat her? Her crop is empty, she still walks around and eats the bread I give her... I'm not sure what it. Could it be stress? I bought 5 baby chickens 3 months and the leghorn...

18 week old chicken has deformed leg - is it still possible to treat?

My buff sussex rooster has a deformed leg, his leg goes out to the side. He was not born like this. The problem started at 7 weeks, he started limping but I thought he just had a "sprained" ankle so it would go away (this is the first time we are raising chickens from eggs) Few weeks later we...

12 week old leghorn smaller than the rest by alot, open mouth, closed eyes and no crop?

My leghorn has its mouth open and its eyes are closed, she has no crop and she's bony and smaller than the others. My other leghorn which is the same age as her is thriving and is the biggest chicken in the group. What's wrong with my chicken? Her poops are normal and she's "averagely active"...

10 week old chicken spits watery clear discharge?

My 10 week old just spitted out some water... almost like a human phlegm consistency but just a bit runnier. I read it might be an impacted crop... what do you guys think it is? She's fine with eating and stuff, lively. Or is it normal for hens to spit? Any suggestions are welcome
